The facility

The site is in Naas, Co. Kildare, the same location as AMC's removals warehouse and office. Indoor units are inside the warehouse building, clean and dry. Outdoor containers sit in the yard right beside the building. You can drive your car or van directly to the container door.

Access: 24 hours, 7 days a week via personal access code. The office is staffed during business hours on weekdays. Weekends and out of hours, the gate is accessible by code (no dependency on anyone being on-site.

Security: Full perimeter CCTV monitored around the clock.

How to pick the right size

The most common mistake is going one size too small to save a few euro, then having to upgrade when you realise you can't fit everything in. A few rules of thumb:

Boxes only: about 10 medium boxes per 10 sq ft when stacked well. For a bedroom-worth of boxes, 20-25 sq ft is a reasonable starting point. For furniture included, take your largest item, usually a mattress or sofa, and build from there.

Between homes: a 1-bed apartment's contents typically fills a 35-40 sq ft indoor unit or an 8 ft outdoor container. A 2-bed house needs roughly 75-85 sq ft indoor or a 10 ft container. If you want a small aisle to reach things without unloading, go one band up.

Indoor units are inside the warehouse building. Dry, sheltered, consistent temperature year-round. Ground floor units are easiest for heavy or bulky items, no stairs involved.
